Quilt on a Sternwheeler!

Join us for a unique experience as we offer the first quilt class in the Mid-Ohio Valley on the Ohio River!  We are offering a once in a life time quilt class as we head down the river and offer a quilting class for up to 30 participants.  We will be making a new block designed by Brian and Warren that we have named the "Mid-Ohio Valley Star".  

This one day 'quilting cruise' includes a class on the Valley Gem Sternwheeler with lunch and some time to admire the scenic views from the upper deck.  We are working on creating a sample trunk show with the "Mid-Ohio Valley Star" made as a wall hanging and a quilt, as well as a sneak peak of whats new from the Redneck Quilter™! 

Boarding begins at 9am.  The Valley Gem will depart the dock at 9:30am.  We'll return to disembark around 3:30pm.

This all new "Mid Ohio Valley Star" Block is 24 1/2" x 24 1/2" square.  Pics of the blocks and the queen size quilts in two colorways can be seen below.

BLOCK Fabric Requirements:  

WV Colors: F1/Black: 1/3 yd, F2/White: 7/8 yd, F3/Blue: 3/8 yd, F4/Yellow: 1/2 yd  

OH Colors: F1/Black: 1/2 yd, F2/White: 1/2 yd, F3/Red: 1/2 yd, F4/Grey: 3/4 yd

QUILT Fabric Requirements: (Queen Size 102" x 102" square)

WV Colors: F1/BL: 1 1/4 yds, F2/W: 9 yds, F3/Blue: 3 3/4 yds, F4/Yellow: 3 yds plus 1 yd for Binding

OH Colors: F1/BL: 3 yds  plus 1 yd for Binding, F2/W: 5 1/4 yds, F3/Red: 3 5/8 yds, F4/Grey: 5 1/8 yds

Required Class Supplies:  Machine, thread, scissors, seam ripper, pins, dark and light fabric marking pen/cil(s), 12 1/2" square ruler and 24 1/2" long ruler, 18" x 24" cutting mat (smaller ones are going to be a challenge).  Possible but not guaranteed: One mini iron per plug-in outlet (2 people), Portable design wall for a 24" block.

We plan to provide: A limited number of ironing boards and irons, a limited number of portable 24" anti-pill fleece covered foam boards, block pattern (free with class), a couple 24" x 36" cutting mats/stations
